Sports Hall of Honor
The Barbers Hill Sports Hall of Honor was formed to recognize the athletic spirit and traditions that made our school strong, so that future students will strive to be their best and will know what it means to be a Barbers Hill Eagle.
The Hall of Honor was established in 1999, thanks to the vision of Mr. Earl Porter and Mr. R. P. “Bud” Tinsley, with the support of the Barbers Hill ISD Board of Trustees and Administration.
The goal of the Sports Hall of Honor is to document, pay tribute to, and enshrine Barbers Hill High School teams and individuals who distinguish themselves both collectively and individually as Eagles and/or Eagle supporters. The Hall serves to ensure that present and future Barbers Hill students and athletes are aware of the “legacy of champions” they inherit and represent when they wear the blue and white.
The first induction into the Barbers Hill Sports Hall of Honor included 26 individuals and 13 championship teams. New inductions, based on specific criteria and voted on by members of the Barbers Hill Sports Hall of Honor Committee, are held annually.
We invite you to visit the beautiful Sports Hall of Honor display area in Barbers Hill High School and rekindle your spirit.

Don Price, Special Recognition Honoree 1998 – 2009
In the spring of 1998, Coach Don Price became the Athletic Director/Head Football Coach at Barbers Hill High School. His goal was to bring success, not just in football, but in every sport, both boys and girls. Coach Price created an atmosphere of an intense work ethic and accountability for the athletes and coaches alike, and the results were phenomenal. His football teams over twelve seasons were 99-35. Included in those seasons were five undefeated regular seasons, six District Championships, and competition into the playoffs 10 of 12 years, including a run of eight consecutive years. Football was not the only sport that was successful during the Price tenure. All BH sports began enjoying great success within both the boys and the girls programs. A primary example was the 2006-2007 athletic year. This was the first group of athletes to have gone through Coach Price’s strength and conditioning program from the 7th grade year. It was also the year that BH changed UIL classification from 3A to 4A. BH athletes responded by winning 14 out of 15 District Championships. Through Coach Price’s diligence, work ethic, and planning, BH enjoyed years of success across the board, a success that is still enjoyed today.
